TheChangeTend met with one of the fast rising Gospel music artist in Nigeria, A O Gabriel popularly known as ‘MUSIC PROPHET’ by many folks, he’s from Edo state Nigeria and aside from being a practicing Medical personnel, He is also the founder of “Faith And Promises Goshen Blessings Ministry” an NGO that uses the love and teaching of Christ, to improve life for the communities in neeed. the Artist, who recently celebrated his Birthday chat up with our correspondence from The Change Trend Television in an interview below
The Change Trend TV: What’s the origin of your stage name?
Music Prophet: The name “Music Prophet” came as result of my worship experience in mega prophecy by Bishop Uma-Ukpai in 2006
TCTV: What gives you inspiration?
MP: My inspiration comes from the Holy Spirit, wherever he leads, I follow.
TCTV: What genre of music do you consider your work to be? Who are your major influences?
MP: I do popular urban contemporary gospel music
TCTV: How long have you been doing music?
MP: I been singing for the past ten years.
TCTV: The Gospel is a bit overcrowded how do you intend to set yourself apart?
MP: I have been called to do my Father’s business; Jesus will make a way and separate me from the crowd.
TCTV: Do you have a record label? Are you a member of any music organizations?
MP: I was once a member of the Big T Entertainment. Presently I have a band named Faith And Promises Goshen Blessings Minstrels.
TCTV: Why gospel and not R’N’B or soul music?
MP: Hmm, it’s just like you’re asking me why am I still alive, and not dead; I only live for Jesus.
TCTV: Where have you performed? What are your favorite and least favorite venues? Do you have any upcoming shows or event?
MP: (smiles) I really don’t use the word performance. I use the word ministration… Well, I have ministered at the Reinhard Bonnke Farewell Crusade Lagos 2017 and many other places. My favorite has always been at the RCCG Redemption Camp.
TCTV: What’s your favorite musical instrument?
MP: Wow, I think you already know the answer to that. I love the microphone so much (chuckles), however, I always have a soft-feel for the Keyboard.
TCTV: Who writes your songs? What are the main themes or topics for most of your songs? Do you think these topics will change over time?
MP: I write my songs… though they are basically spurred by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Hmm… concerning if they will change, every lyric I pen down will be as the spirit leads.
TCTV: What are you most afraid of ?
MP: The bible has instructed me many times to “fear not” if God be on my side, what do I have to fear?
TCTV: What are your rehearsals generally like? Do you have a set time each week in which you practice or are rehearsals more spontaneous?
MP: I do studio rehearsals…
TCTV: How has your music evolved since you first began playing music?
MP: To the glory of God, it has been a rapid growth, from one level to the other.
TCTV: What’s your ultimate direction and where do you see yourself in the next 10 years?
MP: In the next 13 years I see myself among the leading gospel artistes in the world.
TCTV: What would you not travel without?
MP: I would rather not travel without my Bible
TCTV: If you had the power to ban one thing in the world, what would that be?
MP: If I have my way, I will abolish piracy.
TCTV: How do you handle mistakes during a performance?
MP: When it happens i go to God in Prayers and why it happened.
TCTV: What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands or go into Gospel music?
MP: The best place to be is in the House of God. Just keep praising and worshiping
